Before his days on Newsradio and Fear Factor, comedian Joe Rogan did what he could to get by, biding his time with gigs in the "entertainment" industry while trying to break into show biz.
One such gig at a Woonsocket strip club left quite an impression on Rogan. In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Rogan recalled the experience.

This is really too bad. Woonsocket has a lot of quality venues, restaurants and shops.

You can tell he didn't know anything about Woonsocket when he called it a small little fishing village, but he found a strip club to do his thing.

haha, Popper, I thought the same thing. "what? a fishing village!?!"
It's not even safe to eat a fish from our river.
If this was k2u, maybe he drove in on 146, past the dam and ye olde english and Ray's seafood, and got a vaguely fishy impression...
despite the fact that we're miles and miles from any body of water that could possibly sustain industrial fishing on even the tiniest scale, haha
But, was this k2u?
Has there ever been another strip club in the city?
did k2u have "jack and jill" nights? Anyone know?

Joe Who ?? What a loser. Real arrogant talk coming from a guy that comes from New Jersery of all places. Say what he wants to, but the fact of the matter is that he was coming here, to Woonsocket, to work, at a strip joint of all places. Like they don't have those in New Jersery. He's nothing but an aging fat balding bum who is just lucky that this country is crazy enough to consider him a celebrity and pay him far more than he's worth. Great for him, but it doesnt give him the right to talk down to or about anyone else.

Where was he Kings and Queens? Ray's Seafood is next door maybe that is why he thought it was a small fishing village.

Kings and Queens was just a club, Kathy...as far as I know, they never had strippers performing. But Ray's was pretty close to k2u as well!

This is hilarious! Can't stop laughing...
I, too am a bit amused regarding Mr. Rogan's reference of "some sort of fishing village". I'm sure I'll not make many new friends here, but his remarks/impression about everyone looking like they were "drinking since they were born" and the tattoo comment is so close to the truth. I can only imagine the sights that he observed while at that establishment... Lighten up folks, y'all gotta have a sense of humor! [laugh]. So funny!

Jack and Jill was across the street from the Old Carquest on Social St next door to the old Carbon Bowling alley, I knew that it was a strip club, but the name im not positive of. it could be that because K2U was a normal club before a strip club. Misty's and many other names. He really didn't bash Woonsocket, he only put us back on the Map. Look for the movie Hachi staring Richard Gere, he put us on the map in that movie.
