Gallery: Woonsocket Celebrates Independence Day
Band and fireworks display entertains revelers of all ages.
Throngs of city residents turned out at World War II Veterans Memorial Park for Woonsocket's Fourth of July celebration Sunday night, to watch an impressive display of fireworks light up the night sky while enjoying music by the Swing City Band.

The City of Woonsocket always had a good fireworks display as far back as I can remember. Though I missed them this year, I can see by the photos that they did a great job again!

Sandy, were you ever able to find out who sponsored these fireworks last night, seeing how the city budgeted zero dollars for any holiday celebrations going forward. Thanks.

Steve, during the Veterans' opening ceremony last night, the Mayor said that the fireworks were paid from donations raised at last year's Inaugural Ball, and the band was paid from a donation by the Cloutier family.
