Veterans Day November 11, 2012

There will be a Veteran's Day ceremony at 11:00 AM within World War II Memorial Park near the cannon and memorial markers.

The United Veterans Council of Woonsocket is asking all veterans and veteran groups as well as the general public to attend.

Ernest S Boisvert

Vice-President United Veterans Council Woonsocket

I'd like to thank ALL veterans for their service to our country today, Veterans Day, and every day.

Thank you to Ernest Boisvert, VP of United Veterans Council, and to the four veterans who held flags at the short ceremony at WWII Veterans Memorial Park, and to the FIVE people in attendance.

Five people in attendance, on Veterans Day! And as I stood there listening to Mr. Boisvert speak, I couldn't help but notice some men, sitting on a wall in the distance, completely uninterested in the small gathering around the monument. Two other men, casually walking past the ceremony with not even the slightest curiosity as the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Shameful and embarrasing!

So, I hope you enjoy today's football games and tomorrow's sales. But, please, remember our veterans. Thank them for their service.
